What is the future of computing?
There are many different kinds of computers, from computers that fit in your pocket and connect to a global connection network (smartphones), to supercomputers that are bigger than a small house. When you ask what the future of computers is, you have to also ask what the purpose of computers will be it the future. There will most likely be multiple purposes as there are now.
On one hand, you have the Microsoft Surface go a 10-inch tablet that runs a full copy of the Windows operating system. On the other hand, you have Summit the US government new massive supercomputer. Both of these are computers, but they have very different (yet relevant) purposes.
I think that a very interesting and futuristic concept it that of a business called Shadow. They make it possible to access a much more powerful machine from a low-cost computer, tablet, or smartphone. In my opinion, something like that is the future of computing, at least consumer computing. It allows you to pay a small monthly fee and get access to a computer that you will not have to maintain, and you can access from anywhere, on any device.
